We are involved from the very first conversation. From functional design and detailed engineering to procurement, production and commissioning – we take responsibility for the entire process. Not just at handover, but at every step.
We do what we say. Our way of working is built on short lines of communication and minimal overhead. That translates into clear agreements, realistic schedules and results that match what we agreed together.
Our engineers design and calculate storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping and complete process installations. They work with 3D design software (Inventor), know the relevant regulations (PED, ATEX, EHEDG) and have extensive hands-on experience. Cost savings of up to 25% have demonstrably been achieved in practice through close collaboration between our Engineering and Procurement teams and those of our clients.
Our quality is measurable and testable. We work with certified welders and mechanics, under ISO 9001:2015, SCC, EHEDG and Kiwa BRL-K756/03. All products are built under controlled conditions in our own workshop and undergo thorough testing before delivery.
Our production facility has large doors and a lifting capacity of up to 90 tonnes. Kuipers Woudsend has excellent road access and is situated directly on open waterways. Large installations can be transported to their final destination by truck or by ship.

Johannes Kuipers started in 1964 as the local blacksmith in the Frisian village of Woudsend. Today, under the name Kuipers Woudsend, the company has grown into a leading manufacturer of high-grade stainless steel products. From one employee then to over 90 employees in 2016. We produce semi-finished and end products. Companies can come to us for professional welding, structural work, press work, sheet metal work and engineering.
Frisians have a rich history and their own unique character. Straightforward, yet full of heart. They have no time for flattery, boasting or dishonesty, and believe firmly that all people are equal. And they don’t just talk – they act. Johannes Kuipers made whatever needed to be made from metal. Simply because he was asked to. Kuipers produced manure tanks on a self-supporting chassis with a calibrated weighing system — built for heavy-duty use in the agricultural road transport of animal manure and liquid fertilisers.
